Diego Ballesteros joined OLIVARES in 2017. Since then, he has been an enthusiastic and effective member of Olivares trademark team, participating in multiple cases of the highest relevance within the firm. Diego intervenes in all kinds of matters related to distinctive signs, such as consultancies, the supervision of the filing of trademark applications, assignments of rights, name changes and other trademark procedures before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), as well as in the elaboration of trademark registrability and availability searches, the drafting of franchise or license agreements, the negotiation of coexistence agreements for our clients, among many others.

Currently, Diego is focused on developing comprehensive strategies to obtain and protect our clients’ industrial property rights. His wide range of knowledge allows him to assist our clients in various areas and he supports them from the beginning to the end of each matter, whether it is actively intervening in the preparation of responses to official actions and provisional refusals relating relative and absolute grounds of refusal, handling opposition proceedings or planning global litigation strategies.

When I’m not being an Attorney…

I enjoy reading novels and articles about politics, playing paddle, travelling, going to the movies, visiting new restaurants and trying new wines, preferably with my family and friends.
