On March 22, 2021, the Decree reforming Article 8 of the Federal Cinematography Law (LFC) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation and establishes, among other things that:

  1. Films will be exhibited to the public in their original version and subtitled in Spanish, under the terms established by the Regulations. Films classified for children and educational documentaries may be shown dubbed, but always with Spanish subtitles.

  1. The Federal Executive will have a term of 60 calendar days as from the date of entry into force of this Decree to amend the Regulations of the Federal Cinematography Law and other provisions derived therefrom.
